President
Stephen Krause
president at eastsiderugby.org
(206) 409-0134

Stephen found rugby in high school back in 1990. He started front row for the Walt Whitman High School Rugby Club where the team won the Cherry Blossom tournament, PRU, ERU, and placed 2nd in the nation in 1991. He then moved on to the University of Maryland where he played hooker. After several games he went on a sabbatical from life where he "found himself lost in a haze". Years past and he moved to Portland, OR and decided rugby was again to be his calling. He broke his ankle after a couple of months training with ORSU and then moved to Seattle where he joined ERFC in 2001. He played front row and back row for a few years before succumbing to another injury. He states: "My attitude about rugby is simple - it's the best team sport in the world!".

The president oversees all administrative duties of the club.
Secretary
Frank Yon
secretary at eastsiderugby.org
(206) 399-7913

Frank was born in the UK where he started playing rugby in school from 1986-88. He played 2nd row for the King's School Ely in Ely, Cambridgeshire. He migrated back to the States and moved away from the game into lacrosse, football, and wrestling. He found Eastside RFC in late 2001 and began playing with the club as a prop or lock. Beyond rugby, he has been known to lift a pint of Guinness or a JuiceBox from time to time while performing some light stunt work.

The secretary manages the club schedule, fields, and other events.
Treasurer
Peter Gengler
treasurer at eastsiderugby.org
(206) 849-0596

Peter was born and raised in Madison, WI and began his rugby career during his sophomore year in high school. He had been enjoying a mediocre season of tennis when his friends said they were starting a rugby club and he should stop being a girl and come play. A quick glance at his paltry tennis ability and he instantly agreed, becoming one of the three founders of Madison West High School Rugby and the fly half captain of the team.

Three years later, bright eyed and full of wonder, he headed to his first practice at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he was attending college. Faced with the stark contrast to high school rugby's drinkups composed of punch and pizza, he quickly trained himself in the social aspects of college rugby and became a competent freshman boat racer and entertained at the parties with his panache for song. Things went well on the field as well: after starting fly half for the second side, he got a shot at first side that year at full back. He moved to fly half after two years and held the position for the remainder of his time at university.

Half a year after leaving college, traveling the world, and settling into his new career he re-entered the rugby world in Seattle where he began, and continues, to play for the Eastside Axemen at center. He's managed the team's finances as Treasurer for the past two years.

The treasurer oversees the financial responsibilites of the club and its members.
Club Captain
Gary Macy
captain at eastsiderugby.org

Gary is a native of the Seattle area (Kent specifically) and has been playing rugby for about six years. He first started playing with Eastside in the 2000-2001 season, and since then has played at Central Washington University, Silverdale United RFC in New Zealand, and the Old Reigations RFC in England. He has played with the KUDU select team at Aspen Ruggerfest in Colorado for the past two years and has been running the Del Rey 7's club for the past three years.

Gary has played most of his rugby at loosehead prop and lock, but has recently played 8 man and blindside flanker. Last year, as field captain, he helped lead Eastside to the playoffs for the first time since 2001. This year, as club captain, he hopes to lead the team to a Pacific Coast championship.

The club captain represents the team both on and off the pitch, at matches, and at training.
Member at Large
Kyle Windenburg
member at eastsiderugby.org
(425) 941-7787

Kyle started playing rugby in high school for the Redmond Rugby Club. He played in the national tournament twice and got to take a tour through the UK. After a few years he got a call from an old high school team mate asking him to come out and play for Eastside. He showed up for the 2002 and 2003 seasons, took a few years off, and then returned in 2006. Kyle plays prop and lock and both are positions he's played since high school. He got a few minutes of glory out at wing in the playoffs for Eastside. His favorite part of training is having that nice vold pint at the bar. Over the past few years he has played with a great bunch of guys on the team and he's looking forward to many more years to come!

The member at large serves as the representative bridge between the officers and the club membership and works with the new players.
